Here is dad in the ICU. Looks pretty good, eh? The cardiac surgeon was just here- the famous John Propp! He seems to think that dad will pull through this pretty well. Dad and mom are so grateful that both daughters are here; mom needs extra love and care right now. Visitors and calls are non-stop so thank you everyone!

  1. Hey Uncle Charlie and Aunt Kevin,
I want to call again and talk to you, but I hear the phone is ringing off the hook (so many people love you both). So, I will type instead of call.

I love you both and I am praying for your team of doctors to have their "best game on" during your surgery and that you have a speedy recovery.

I've been thinking about you wanting to travel again, travel to Ohio, I will call all the people I know with problems and issues, that way you will feel useful counseling them. I will give them a schedule and make sure to fill your days with plenty to do!

    I love you,
    Lisa

  2. Hi Charlie and Kevin,

I shared your story with my parents and asked my dad, a three time open heart surgery veteran, for any advice. He and mom both replied, "stay strong, have faith, and stay positive. Yes. It's soooo important to stay positive!" They are both keeping you in their prayers.

Kevin, my mom empathizes with you because she has been in your position so many times. It's good that you and Britt and Courtney there with you. Rely on them.

One gift in all of this is the outpouring of love that has and will continue to come forth to you. This is truly amazing and you will never forget it.

We will all be thinking of you on Tuesday morning & sending positive, loving energy your way.

We're so glad that we can follow your progress on the blog...Thanks Britt!

    Much love,

    Bridget & Jon

  3. Brittany,
The blog has me there with you --- I can hear you speak, see your tears and smile.

May the challenges ahead carry hope in your heart that His presence and love is with you. Do what you do best ~ spread that love around!

Let your parents know many at Pathway Community Church are praying.

    xoxo
    Debbie

  4. Charlie & Kevin: Greetings from Maryland where our family is sending up many prayers for both of you! I've really enjoyed re-connecting with Brittney in the last year and am glad to be connecting with you in this way. Heart surgery has come so far and it sounds like you're in excellent hands. We'll pray for the good work of your medical team, and also for spiritual and physical strength for both of you as you prepare for surgery and recovery.

    Love,
Ann (Derstine) Batlle, Dan & Eva

  5. Dear Charlie and Kevin,
Finally I found you! It took me a while to find how this thing works, but perseverance pays, and I've got some of that.
I want to let you know that Alpha USA has been mobilized to pray. Gerard told me last night he was going to the "Throne of Grace with you request." On Tuesday we will be interceding also in our Colorado prayer monthly call for you. So you are well covered in this end.
We love you very much and hate you have to go through this. However; Jesus is with you two. This week I found this verse that refers to a man like you: Nehemiah 7:2. This refers to Hananiah, a man of integrity who "feared God more than most people do." Thank you for being Hananaiah for me. Lidia and I live you very much. José and Lidia

  6. Kevin, if appropriate, I would like to visit. Where is the hospital or the phone? If not prudent, I can wait. I love you both. José

  7. Charlie and Kevin:
I am so happy and thankful that we have reconnected recently. I have been blessed by many things in my life and you are right at the top of that list. We have been praying for you, your family and your medical team. I will look forward to seeing you both soon and introducing you to Kristy (and reintroducing Connor)! I love you both and miss you...Greg Rhodes

  8. Hello Charlie!

We've been thinking of you constantly. I received this via email today, and thought to share it with you...

"May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us."

    Love, cheers & hugs,
    Ameeta & Ty
